What is a Landing Page?

A landing page is traditionally associated with a paid search engine campaign, such as Google Adwords. However, a landing page can be so much more than that.

A landing page is a page that has a single focus, a single target audience.

Example: NSWIB

As you may know, our NSWIB Web site includes a searchable member database. Most people include their Web site URL, or address, that takes you to the member's home page. In most cases, you don't see a photograph of the member, or any personal details or anything relating to NSWIB.

If members have a special offer for NSWIB members only, chances are it's not on the home page.

That's where the landing page comes in.

A landing page allows your to customize your message specifically to NSWIB members.

  • Include information you'd like to share with members that you may not necessarily include in your Web site.
  • Clearly state a unique offer just for members.
  • Offer a more personalized look at who you are.
  • List a committee you may be involved with or talk about what you like best about the organization.
  • Included your photograph so other members will recognize you.

And of course there's much more you can do with the page.

A Landing Page helps you:

  • Identifiy you: when members look you up on the member search they can see who you are.
  • Clearly state your unique value proposition
  • Offer a specific promotion available to members only.
  • Position you and your business.

You can take advantage of this program even if you do not have a Web site.

Have a Web designer already? I will work with them to create this page for you.

Landing Page FAQs

Q: Do I need a Web site to have a Landing Page?

A: No! Your Landing Page can act as a "mini" Web site until you are ready to create a full site for your business.

Q: Is a Landing Page just for NSWIB or can I use it with other organizations too?

A: A Landing Page can be customized for each organization to which you belong. If you belong to more than one organization, ideally you would have a different Landing Page for each organization. However, the look and feel stays the same -- only the message and the offer changes according to your specific audiences.

Q: Does my Landing Page have to identically match my Web site?

A: It's a good idea to keep a similar look and feel to your current site. However, it doesn't have to be exactly the same.

My Landing Page is set up exactly like my new Web site; the message is geared just to NSWIB members however.
